Phish Ticket Giveaway Winner!

Phish Ticket

Jake Dog receiving the ticket from the Decent Community brass.

Congratulations to Jacob Alexander, the winner of our Phish Ticket Giveaway! Jake was able to get 19 different people to e-mail us pictures for Decent Collage, making him the winner of a free Lawn Seat to see Phish on Saturday at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, Mass. Steve Sicalri made a late push but finished second with 11 different people to send us pics. Wrapping up the contest was Matildalee with five different peeps. Thanks to all who entered.

So Jake, get ready to rock! Touch base with us so we can get you that free ticket.

Thanks to all who entered. Look for the guys wearing the Decent Community t-shirts on Saturday and come say hi or waaaaaazzzzahhhh!

Don’t bother looking for Jeff Dunham at the show, however. Who’s Jeff Dunham? He’s an overweight, 43-year-old virgin who lives with his parents and plays World of Warcraft all weekend. He’s also the guy who kept tagging out posts for the concert as Spam on Craigslist. E-mail him at jdunham4@hotmail.com and tell him how much of a cocksmoker he is!

There’s still time to enter the contest, still time to win the contest, and there’s still time to reclaim the to spot before the deadline ends at midnight Sunday. No entries will be counted as soon as the clock strikes June 1. Click here for rules. Good luck everyone.

Thursday Ramblings

Will the Red Sox release David Ortiz? He’s not hitting and doesn’t play defense. He’s wasting a roster spot right now. Theo Epstein and Terry Francona are hoping he starts to hit at least a little bit because they can’t keep him if he keeps hitting .180. Do you eat the $12 million and let him go? Do you keep a DH on your roster who can’t hit? Imagine that press conference with Theo announcing the Red Sox released Big Papi. … Every gambler wishes they had the luck of grandma Pat DeMauro, who last weekend set a record for longest craps roll of 4 hours and 18 minutes! She rolled 154 times at the Borgata in Atlantic City, breaking the previous record of 3 hours, 6 minutes in Vegas in 1989. Neither the Borgata nor DeMauro would say how much she walked away with but I’m thinking at least $500,000. … Tony Robbins is my boy. He was decent in “Shallow Hal” and his late-night infomercials on how to improve your life are always good for a chuckle or two. I think it’s sad, however, that Tony and other dudes like him basically target overweight people for needing life improvement. I mean, his Ultimate Edge DVD set or whatever it is has a big segment dedicated to losing weight. I’m actually kinda curious on what would happen if I folowed one of his programs faithfully from start to finish. Maybe I’d hit the lottery and marry Scarlett Johansson. … I’m never going to the 24-hour McDonalds on Coggeshall Street in New Bedford ever again. Not because the food sucks, it’s actually quite good unlike many places who dont give a crap late at night. It’s not because of the people who work there either, who aren’t wierd, mean and gross like other late-night places. It’s because after midnight, you can only get value meals, and they jack up the prices on them like crazy! It’s 10 bucks for a 20-piece nugget meal! It’s the only 24-hour grizzle place in New Bedford and it’s a shame the store is screwing everyone like this. … Jeff Dunham is Decent Community’s D-bag of the Year. Who’s Jeff Dunham and why is he a huge cocksmoker? E-mail him at jdunham4@hotmail.com and ask him yourself. … Happy 59th birthday to Jim Harris. Who? Kamala from old-school wrestling. His Kamala character was a big, dumb african guy, but did you know that Harris received an honory degree from the University of Arkansas last year? … Today marks two years since the passing of New England Patriots defensive end Marquis Hill. The Pats came so close to perfection that year that it almost felt like something was missing when they lost. Teammate at both LSU and with the Pats Jarvis Green wore Hill’s shoulder pads that season as a sign of remembrance. … There’s still a couple of days left in the Phish Ticket Contest! Anything can happen and there is no clear-cut winner yet so get some people to e-mail us some pics. Anyone can win a FREE TICKET! … You can now follow Decent Community on Twitter (Twitter.com/decentcommunity). More on this as soon as we get the hang of this Twitter thing, but so far we’ve been sharing brief nuggets of decency throughout the day.

Thursday Ramblings

A Boston guy is suing Ticketmaster over Phish tickets! The Boston Herald has the story, but in summary, this guy tried to get tixfor the upcoming show, found out they were sold out and was automatically redirected to TicketsNow.com, a subsidiary of Ticketmaster that sells tix way above face value (apparently, they don’t advertise the tickets are way overpriced). Interesting stuff. … I rarely buy stuff because of a cool TV commercial, but the Mac vs. PC ads are really starting to convince me to get a Mac. I’m just sick and tired of all the crashing and updates and antivirus downloads. … Ya, J.J. Abrams is already talking about a Star Trek sequel. He also said he wouldn’t rule out bringing William Shatner back in the fold. My vote for a sequel? Klingom War. … Things are going OK for the Red Sox so far. David Ortiz’ homer Wednesday night was cool, but it did come against a guy who had no business still being in the game. Dice-K‘s return should boost the already decent pitching staff. If he is anything close to what he was last year (18-3, 2.90 ERA), the Sox should be in good shape heading into the warmer months.  … I always thought Holly Madison was the hottest of the Girls Next Door trio (Michael Phelps banged her, by the way, and so did magician Criss Angel), but after seeing their recent spread in Playboy, I’m switching over to Kenda Wilkinson. She’s really dumb, though, but she does take the cake as the hottest of the three. She’s engaged to Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Hank Baskett, who’s got more cash than you, so forget about it. The pair are set to be married next month at the Playboy Mansion.  … So Congress passed sweeping legislation to bring major changes to the credit card industry. Basically, companies can’t just jack up interest rates without notice anymore, which is cool. However, in order to make up for lost profits, companies are probably going to cancel Rewards Programs and charge annual fees to people who pay off their balances in full each month (like me!). Ever get the feeling that the responsible folks out there are the ones that keep losing? … Happy 31st birthday to porn star Briana Banks. She claims to have the longest legs int he business (3 feet long!). I don’t know if I can, or should do this, but here’s a link to a Briana Banks porno. … Happy 32nd birthday to Dolphins running back Ricky Williams. Gotta love a guy who choose cheeba over NFL superstardom. … Only 11 days left to win a ticket to the upcoming Phish concert at Great Woods in Mansfield. Not too many people have entered and the winner is surely up for grabs. These tickets are fetching $300 on Craigs List and we’re giving one away for free! The show is gonna be phucking sick!

Phish Ticket Giveaway Update

phish ticket

Decent Community and its founders would like to give a brief update on the status of the Phish Ticket Giveway!

We have had “some” interest in the ticket!  We have a slew of folks with one pic but no one has gotten more than 2 people to submit a pic on their behalf!!  So what does this mean!!!?  The contest is wide open!!!!

Maybe Phish is played out!!!!!?  Maybe there’s not interest in a free ticket!!!!!!?  Maybe people think it’s a hoax!!!!!!?  Or, god forbid, maybe Phish fans don’t read The Community!!!!!!!?  If that’s the case I resign from my position and gladly leave my Community badge with security on my way out!!!!!!!!!

I think, however, most people just don’t understand the rules of the contest!!!!!!!!!  It’s really quite simple!!!!!!!!!!

All you have to do is:

1.  Email all your friends asking them to submit a picture (of anything) on your behalf to decentcommunity@gmail.com!!!!!!!!!!!

All your friends have to do is:

1.  Send in any picture they think is decent with your name in the subject (cool, funny, ugly, horn inducing, etc.)!!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s basically it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For example:

If Tubesteak wanted to win the contest he would email Helmet and Fugaze!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Helmet and Fugaze would each send an email to decentcommunity@gmail.com with “Tubesteak” in the subject line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  If both Helmet and Fugaze sent in a pic Tubesteak would get two points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The more people you get to email a picture for The Collage to decentcommunity@gmail.com the better chance you have at winning a free ticket to see Phish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some people have just emailed us randomly asking for the ticket, which is nice…  But, to win the ticket you must follow the rules, man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
